Why map all of it

A sale is never just you and the buyer.

When you’re new to a market, finding the companies you want to sell to is usually the easy part. The hard part is that nobody there knows you yet.

Big buyers rarely pick a supplier on their own. They ask a consultant they trust, check who else is using you, run into the same people at the same few events and look at who’s backing you. The people around the buyer often decide whether you even get a meeting, which is why the map covers a lot more than a list of companies.

How a deal might come together, using the Lumio demo

01Association

Lumio joins the National Safety Council, which gets it into the member directory and onto the awards shortlist.

02Event

At the National Safety Week Expo, the team meets a safety consultancy that advises more than 40 large employers.

03Influencer

The consultancy introduces Sam Okafor, Head of Safety at Southern Grid Energy, who owns the budget for field safety tools.

04Government

An industry co-funding scheme helps pay for the first pilot, so saying yes is an easier call for Sam.

05Investor

A local fund that backs two of Southern Grid’s suppliers vouches for Lumio, and introduces it to its other portfolio companies.

A made-up example. Real deals are messier, but most of them run through a few of these people before anyone signs.

Try it

Everyone around the sale, on one map.

This demo is for Lumio, a made-up company that sells workplace safety software. Lumio sits in the middle, and the closer someone is to the middle, the more they matter right now. Tap a group to see the role it plays, or tap a dot to see who it is and why they’re on the map. Your own map works the same way, built around your product and your buyers.

How to read this map
The middle
Lumio, the company coming to Australia.
The rings
The closer to the middle, the more it matters. Ring 1 is high priority, ring 2 is medium and ring 3 is one to watch.
The colours
Each colour is a different type, like companies, people or events.
The lines
A dashed line means two things are linked, like a person and the company they work at.

Where it comes from

More than an AI could tell you.

You can ask an AI about the Australian market and get a confident answer, and some of it will even be right.

What goes into your map comes from places an AI can’t get to: research and data we pay for, our own network, and conversations with people who know the market from the inside, including people who used to work at your competitors.

We use AI to help sort through it all, but the calls on who matters and why are made by our team.

01
Proprietary market research

Industry reports and market data you won’t find with a Google search.

02
Company data

Who’s growing, who’s hiring and who’s in charge at the companies you want to sell to.

03
Investor data

Who’s raising money, who’s backing whom and who has budget to spend.

04
Interviews

With industry experts, and with people who used to work at your competitors. They tell you the things that rarely make it into a report.

05
Our own insights

Ten years of helping companies come to Australia, and the people we’ve met along the way.

How it works

From first call to a map you can sell from.

1
Kick-off

We learn your product, your best customers at home and who you think buys in Australia.

2
Research

Our team builds the map from market research, company and investor data, interviews with experts and former competitor staff, and our own network.

3
Walk-through

We take you through it and agree your priority accounts and the best way into each one. The map lives in your browser, so both teams can keep it up to date.

4
Put it to work

Use it for your own outreach, or ask us for introductions and business development support.

FAQ

Good to know.

The demo above uses fictional data. Your map is built for your company.

What does a map cover?

100 priority accounts in Australia, plus the people, events and exhibitions, competitors, government programs, buyer influencers, associations and investors that matter for your product, and how they connect.

What does it cost?

A map is $5,000 + GST. That covers the research, the walk-through with your team and the live map you keep. If you want us to make introductions as well, we’ll quote that separately.

How is it different from a list I could buy?

A bought list gives you contacts. The map tells you who to focus on and why, where your buyers go, and who can introduce you. It’s built by people who work in this market every day.

Do I get to keep it?

Yes. It’s yours to use and update with your team.

Can you map markets outside Australia?

Talk to us. We work across Asia-Pacific, and can look at other markets in the region.

Is it included in your programs?

Yes. Companies in our GTM programs get the same map as part of the program.
